How Curiosity + Mister Rogers Can Advance Your Career
The Momentum Files #1
Curiosity and Mister Rogers.
These are the two things that immediately pop into my mind when people ask me what inspired me to start my business.
(Stick with me – this helps you, too! And if you just thought – Mister Who? – check this out.)
Ever since I was a kid, I was deeply curious to learn about people. Like many, I was glued to the TV when Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was on the screen. And despite so many colorful and attention-grabbing things (Puppets! Songs!), my favorites were the segments where Mister Rogers visited a business and took viewers with him as he learned how things worked, how they were made and why someone wanted to create them in the first place. Whether it was a tennis shoe factory, a toy manufacturer or a place where crayons were churned out and boxed up – I was FASCINATED.
And I still am. Something about putting the pieces together to get a complete picture of how something works – and why it came to be – feels almost magical.
That’s a big part of what led me to create Momentum Coaching.
There is nothing better than learning about my clients – high-achieving and executive-level professionals who are ready to take full ownership of their development and careers - and helping them achieve their goals.
It’s putting the pieces together - what they do, why they do it, what they love about it, how they got there and where they want to go next - and creating a detailed professional development plan that empowers them to recreate themselves and achieve their dreams.
I still get that THRILL when a client gains awareness and confidence about what they love and what they can accomplish. And when they land that ideal role or take those next steps into something life-changing – there is nothing like it.
I’m thankful that I got to tag along with Mister Rogers and experience the magic and inspiration behind so many businesses.
It’s a big part of why I became an Executive Coach, and I’d love to help you find the magic and inspiration in your career.
I’d love to know what inspires you.
Reply and tell me …
What’s something from your childhood that still inspires you today?
And if you have any questions (how to create a professional development plan, transition roles or confidently connect and build relationships, etc.), ask away!
