Stress + Career Transition + Mindset
The Momentum Files #17
Momentum + Mindset = Job Ready!
It’s a brand new year!
So many people are trying to nail down their word of the year or narrow down their resolutions. But the people in my community are busy with other things – like managing career transition and trying to figure out how to turn career-related frustration into the momentum and mindset they need to land that dream role and start loving their job again.
Being stuck in career transition is stressful – especially as it directly ties into your self-esteem, finances and security. You’re built to adapt to these situations, but when the stress continues for a long period of time, how do you maintain your energy, motivation and stamina?
How do you deal with the tedium of networking and resumes and interviews and all the other things?
Remember this.
Energy flows where your attention goes.
Keep your energy reserved for the things you can change and improve – not the problems that you can’t control.
Ask yourself:
Where’s my attention right now?
What am I focusing on?
What can I do about the things I’m focusing on?
Am I setting realistic expectations for myself?
Am I rewarding myself for small wins and achievements?
When you focus on the things you can control, you clear your mind. This clarity allows you to make good decisions. To take action. To build momentum.
This is when you achieve so much more and sustain your energy throughout the process.
Need some ideas to sustain yourself while you’re in transition? These are things my Career Club members recommend and practice themselves:
Read positive books or daily motivational comments.
Write for 5 minutes a day in a gratitude journal. (Research shows that a positive mindset actually changes your brain. It’s powerful stuff and opens up your ability to create and problem-solve.)
Meditate.
Practice guilt-free self-care (take walks outdoors, eat healthy, exercise, sleep).
Keep a running list of your wins (big and small!).
The most important thing to do during career transition is to get job ready!
Being job ready means you’re ready to get and succeed in your next opportunity.
I want to help you get there. And because I’m so grateful that you’re part of my community, I’m giving you first dibs on my new Accelerate Your Career group-coaching program – an intimate 8-week group program that gets you job ready and prepared to:
Target the right companies – those that match your values.
Network like never before – the right way and with the right people – and actually enjoy it!
Interview with confidence and comfort.
Identify and deliver your unique value.
Feel excited and eager to go to work every day (imagine feeling fulfilled by your role and appreciated by your boss!)
We’ll cover each and every important aspect of your career search and job transition during our 8 weeks together. If you want to learn more about it (or jump in and secure your spot), reply and ask me for the details!
You don’t have to stay stuck in career transition. You simply need to build momentum, implement the *right* strategies and fine-tune your focus. That’s when frustration releases its hold on you – and you start making moves toward your next opportunity!
To Your Success!
